Alternatively, come to an Arts Award Hub, or sign up at one of our Saturday workshops at Jubilee Library.
Cost £2 per child (or free if you book a Saturday workshop place).
To achieve a Discover Arts Award
Children do not need to attend a workshop to complete their award, but will need to be registered, and are expected to complete three parts of Award activity, and create a portfolio to gain their certificate:
• Discover the arts – take part in arts activities and keep a list of art you can find around you
• Find out about artists and their work
• Share the experiences with others
• Collect evidence of the Arts Award journey in a portfolio (to be handed in for assessment)
The BPB Arts Award Hub
To support families in achieving their Arts Awards during BPB 2016 we are setting up an Arts Award Hub at Jubilee Library 2pm – 4pm every Saturday in October so drop in if you need any help or advice.
Your Arts Award Portfolio
There are lots of ways to evidence your Arts Award journey, and your portfolio can take many forms. You can:
• Buy and complete an official Arts Award Evidence Booklet – click here to purchase
• Download our Photoworks Discover Logbook template, and fill this in, or use the headings in a sketchbook of your own.
• Create a Blog and submit the link.
Note: You will need to hand in your portfolio for it to be assessed. You can hand it in at the Arts Award Hub, at a workshop, or by email to chloe@photoworks.org.uk
Share Your Experience
To complete the Discover Arts Award children must show that they have shared their work with others. To help, we are creating a children’s sharing event that includes informal show and tell opportunities, and a pop-up exhibition space to exhibit artwork.
